Day 52
Thought you might like to see Liam’s first visitor in the Hospital. We very originally named him Johnathon Livingston.
The second photo is Liam today on his crutches, and yes that is lego at his feet, thanks Andrew for sending it all the way from Luxemburg!
We got up early this morning for our visit to the hospital, it was a bit of a shock to the system waking up to the alarm and actually having to get up before 7.30. We made good time and were seen initially by the nurses and registrar. They changed the dressing on Liams leg and had a bit of a poke around.
There was a bit of concern about the swelling in his eye and Charles Davis the surgeon came out of theatre and took a look. Liam is scheduled for further surgery next wednesday when they will put him under a general anaesetic and trim off the excess swelling which is causing problems in his eye. This is just a day surgery and is a ‘doddle’ compared with the last one!
Other than that they are very pleased with his progress and the surgery site in his mouth is looking really good. The swelling will reach a peak at about 6 weeks and then after that an assessment will be made regarding further surgery.
No pathology results yet.
